Carlos O'Brien's opened in a downtown Phoenix strip mall in 1978 and built a devoted Valley following by doing one thing well: fresh Arizona Style Mexican food, made every day.
Grown across the Valley
From that first location, Carlos O'Brien's grew to multiple spots across the Valley — and the welcome has been exactly the same at every one.
The work starts early
Every morning, the team arrives early to slice fresh vegetables, make guacamole from scratch, and slowly simmer the signature sauces that have been part of the menu for years. That daily routine is what keeps the food tasting the way it does.
Mexican food, O'Brien spirit
The Irish name nods to the founder's heritage — the bar stocks Irish beers and whiskeys right alongside the best of Mexico. It's a combination that's a little unusual and completely our own.
